Titel: Quality Assurance in the Textile and Clothing Industry
Beschreibung zum Modul:
The project "Quality Assurance in the Textile and Clothing Industry" offers students the opportunity to carry out a comprehensive project as a quality manager or auditor in a fictitious company. Both theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired during studies and internships are required. This project is closely related to the requirements of the later professional life and allows the students to apply their entire knowledge.
The course combines theory and practice, with an emphasis on the practical part. Students will deal with various issues, such as the classification of the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and the reasons for the division into different classes. They will also learn about the quality control criteria for jeans/trousers and carry out an AQL inspection for an upcoming delivery of T-shirts, etc. Another aspect of the project deals with customer service and claims management. Students will be asked to find solutions for a customer who is demanding compensation for a defective product. They have to analyze which measures can be taken and who is responsible for the damage. In addition, students will be asked to investigate the importance of chemical safety data sheets and the difference between RSL (Restricted Substance List) and MRSL (Manufacturing Restricted Substance List).
Evaluation will be based on the team's submitted project work, which will be presented at the end of the semester. |
