Projekt im Master Wintersemester 2024/2025
Titel: Technical development of thermal conductive textile products
In extreme snowfall conditions, cars parked outside often become completely covered with snow, making it difficult to remove. This project aims to develop an electrically heated car cover that maintains the surface temperature above 0°C, preventing snow from sticking to the cover. The cover will incorporate electrically conductive yarns with optimized resistance, creating a circuit that heats up when powered. To ensure uniform heat distribution, the fabric will be coated with a thermally conductive layer, such as polyurethane embedded with metal particles, enhancing its heat transfer efficiency.
Objectives:
- To identify the optimum conductive thread for heating purposes, ensuring the right balance between conductivity and safety.
- To develop a heating circuit on the fabric using a sewing machine to achieve uniform heat distribution across the entire surface.
- To coat the fabric with metal particles embedded in polyurethane (PU), making it thermally conductive and improving the overall efficiency of heat transfer.
